The Scryer Club is a subsection of the Seer program dedicated to knowledge surrounding prediction markets. Prediction markets are a deceptively complex tool for aggregating information. While at face value the concept may seem simple, the creation and execution of prediction markets is a detailed and unforgiving process that requires careful thought and planning to do properly.
While we are all united by a common interest in prediction markets, it would be negligent to assume that everyone truly understands nuances and consequences that are a major part in the creation and execution of prediction markets. If these nuances and consequences are not carefully considered while creating a market, the repercussions can be disastrous for all involved. To help mitigate negative situations for our community when interacting with prediction markets on the Zeitgeist app, we have created The Scryer Club.
The goal of The Scryer Club is to create a group of knowledgeable community members that can be looked upon as a reliable source of guidance for anybody wanting to learn more about prediction markets; specifically those interested in deploying prediction markets themselves. Members of The Scryer Club are expected to help anybody who is considering opening a market to make sure that the conditions of that market are acceptable and executable.
Moving forward, The Scryer Club will be a major resource for the Zeitgeist community as a whole. The ability for our community to openly discuss and receive feedback on markets they are considering is paramount in the success of prediction markets deployed on the Zeitgeist App. Being a member of the Scryer club is one of the most prestigious positions someone can hold in the Zeitgeist community and likewise will be a lofty goal for anyone who wishes to join. In order to be a trusted source of reference, each member of The Scryer Club must be personally vetted before joining.
Currently the process for joining The Scryer Club is 100% discretionary. This means that members will be hand picked by the Zeitgeist team after careful consideration. In the future there will be an official process for applying to The Scryer Club by completing specific tests available in the . While the Academy is under construction, the best way to start working towards Scryer Club membership is to help contribute to the Zeitgeist Academy itself by writing articles about prediction markets that others can learn from and be tested on. These articles can be on subjects already hosted within the , or on subjects of your choosing that you feel will be helpful contributions.
