Community Building
The Seer Program is only the first step in developing community within the Zeitgeist Ecosystem.
The Art of Community Building
Building community is an incredibly fulfilling endeavor. Nothing is better than being the catalyst that brings people together around a common interest and watching them grow as a collective entity in the pursuit of that common interest.
The creation of a community is, and always should be, a naturally occurring phenomenon. You can never force the existence of a community, at least not in a sustainable manner. You can only provide the resources and opportunities for a community to naturally form around the ideas and philosophies that resonate with all those that take part. With the proper guidance in place, communities will start to gradually gain momentum that eventually leads to exponential growth as the network within it expands.
Communities give true credence to the saying "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts." Each individual in a community brings their own unique perspective, and this perspective inherently influences the greater community as a whole. When several individuals with their own unique perspectives come together in the form of a community it creates an ever evolving, intrinsic growth pattern. This growth isn't the growth defined by traditional metrics like the number of new members, but rather a growth in philosophies and collective knowledge. This collective knowledge is the true power of a community, and is what allows for a community to achieve goals that the individuals who make it could never obtain alone. The ultimate goal is to take this collective knowledge and leverage it for the sake of the community's overarching goals.
Developing Culture Within A Community
The most important aspect of any community is the culture of the community itself. Though a community may begin by simply uniting a set of individuals behind a common cause, the culture that develops as a result of this unity will determine the potential of the community's future. It is paramount that culture is considered in any action taken by or within a community, big or small. By establishing and protecting a culture that accurately reflects the values and philosophies of your community, you create a sense of belonging that anyone who participates can feel.
This particularly applies to the newer members of a community. When an individual decides to take part in a community it is crucial that they find a sense of belonging even before they start to actively engage with the rest of the community. Using this cultural sense of belonging as a foundation for your community will ensure that like minded individuals will continue to join and take part.
The Seer Program - Building A Global Community
Zeitgeist is a decentralized, global network. Likewise, The Seer Program is a decentralized and global community. Sticking with the philosophy of enabling the individuals inside our community to build upon the Seer Program's base culture that we have established, we make it a top priority to cater to the development of localized global communities. We want our members to feel empowered to start networking and creating with those that are closest to them. By establishing localized communities within The Seer Program we hope to bring a level of comfort to those interested in participating that allows them to feel welcome and valued within our community from the very start.
We have started the process of globalizing The Seer Program through initiatives like our Seer Program Medium Page, and a localized leadership structure led by our Head Ambassadors. However, the global growth of The Seer Program will ultimately rely on new members taking up the baton and becoming leaders or contributors to their local communities. If you are interested in contributing to the growth of the Zeitgeist Ecosystem in your local community, we will do everything in our power to enable that.
If you have ideas, or need guidance in developing your local community you can reach out to any of the Zeitgeist Community Leads or Head Ambassadors and we will gladly help.
